It’s that time of year. Time to think about packing your bathers, sun dresses, sandals and sun cream.
Holiday season is here.
Many an hour will be spent scouring the internet for the dream holiday. One that strikes the right balance of relaxation, culture and of course, sunshine.
Thinking about where to go and for how long? Sort out your holiday, scanning for the best deal. Is a package deal preferable to a holiday where you book all elements separately?
Get on Google maps. What’s the local area like? Is there a wide selection of places to eat? Does the beach look clean? Is the hotel in a busy or quiet area?
Check out the hotel reviews. Do people rate the hotel well, or are there masses of pictures of unhappy looking holiday makers pointing at a filthy room with exposed wires and cracked tiles?
Obligatory holiday clothing shopping can then start. Will you need another pair of holiday shoes or will the 10 pairs be sufficient? Do you have enough swimming costumes? Do the kids have enough clothes, sun hats and shoes? Find the best offers online and get everything delivered to your door.
Time to do more online research. Who has the best exchange rate? Travel insurance is needed. Back online, again, looking for the best deal.
So many other things you’ll do online in the lead up to your holiday. You’ll spend a considerable amount of time messaging your friends, having excitable exchanges about the forthcoming relax-fest.
No doubt you’ll visit the holiday website several times in the lead up. Who doesn’t like to look at the beautiful blue skies, luxurious bed and inviting swimming pool that’ll be their reality for a week or two?
While you’re on holiday you’ll be uploading pictures of your living quarters, selfies of you drinking Del Boy Trotter-worthy cocktails and, of course, every meal you eat. (That’s why social media was invented, right?)
Are you a company director? While you’re away, who’s taking care of business? Is it just you? Do you have to send us your accounts or confirmation statement?
Don’t come back from your holiday to a letter saying you’ve missed your filing deadline. As you’re going to be online a lot, take a minute to think about what you need to do as a director.
Every single company (trading, or not) must file a set of accounts and a confirmation statement. If you don’t, your company could go into default and could be removed from the public record. You could find yourself in court paying penalties for non-compliance.
Don’t give yourself a post-holiday stress-out. Check that your information is up to date.
If you need to send your information to us, the quickest and most hassle-free way to file, is online.
Have a fantastic holiday. And now that you’re up-to-date for the year, don’t give us a second thought… Unless you want to send us a postcard.
